Last weekend we participated in a 5K walk for JDRF (Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation). We raised some $$$ and had a great time at Wheeler Farm with The Wards, Liz and her friends and our neighbors, The Boyacks.
John and Isaac's version of "warming up" before the race.
TEAM LIZ - Liz in front holding a towel. Liz is one of John's twin sisters...got Type 1 diabetes when she was 16. John was 27. His cousin was 26. We're hoping to see a cure for Type 1 in their lifetime. It looks promising...currently have the technology to transplant islets to kick-start the pancreas again. It's $ and implementation that's keeping it from being a mainstream procedure.
Our fearless team Captain, Janice (my mother-in-law), who is incredibly motivated and talented. She and Liz raised over 4K for JDRF!!!
Our cute neighbors, The Boyacks
Liza and Boston cheering us on!
Can you find Waldo (I mean, Zeke)?????????????????????

That looks fun! I don't think I realized that John's sister Liz was diabetic, too. Crazy! Good for them to raise so much money! Go team Liz!!
